Steffi Graf once again received a marriage proposal from a spectator on the court! Back in 1996 at Wimbledon, a fan proposed to her, which prompted a hilarious reaction from her and the entire thing turned out to be an unforgettable moment in Wimbledon history. 

And now, about 28 years later, another proposal took the 55-year-old by surprise during an exhibition match in Cluj, Romania. As Graf was getting ready to serve in a mixed doubles match alongside husband Andre Agassi, someone from the spectator yelled, “Steffi, will you marry me?

The court erupted in laughter with a smiling Graf pointing her finger upwards gesturing that she would not! Fans on the court enjoyed the scene with loud cheers and applause, and the video has become an instant hit among tennis fans on social media.

In that 1996 Wimbledon semifinal when the funny incident took place, Graf was playing against Kimiko Date and defeated her, after which, she went on to lift the title by beating Arantxa Sanchez Vicario in the final.

As soon as the video surfaced on social media, tennis fans spammed the comment section recalling the moment when the first proposal drew a witty reply from Steffi Graf. When Fraulein Forehand was preparing to serve and got the proposal, amidst loud cheers, she yelled, “How much money do you have?”

Graf dated Andre Agassi after the 1999 Roland Garros (Agassi and Graf won the singles titles) and got married on 22 October 2001. They have two children, a son, and a daughter, born in 2001 and 2003. 

About Graf’s career, she turned pro in 1982 and retired in 1999 with a 900–115 win-loss record in singles. During that span of her career, she won 107 titles, which is also the third-most of all time. 

She stands second on the list of most Grand Slam titles since the start of the Open Era, winning 22 of them, while in doubles, she won the 1988 Wimbledon Championships. The German legend also achieved a Golden Slam by winning all the Grand Slam titles and the Olympic gold in the same calendar year (1988).

Her husband, Agassi, on the other hand, is an eight-time Grand Slam champion and retired after holding an 870–274 win-loss record in singles.
