In the final, India and Australia faced on November 19 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Aussie skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first, with his team bundling out Rohit Sharma and co. for 240 runs. A century from Travis Head (137 off 120) was enough for his side to become a world champion for a record-extending six times.
Virat Kohli disappointed fans by hugging Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir
In last year’s IPL, Gautam Gambhir mentored Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). During LSG’s match against RCB, a series of small fights led to a big one between Gambhir and Virat Kohli.
It started with some arguments on the field between Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq, and after the match, Kyle Mayers and Gambhir joined in. Post the match, things remained cold between them, with both sides taking digs at one another on social media.
When Afghanistan came to India for the World Cup, Naveen couldn’t save himself from ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants from the Indian crowds until the drama abruptly came to an end when Kohli and Naveen hugged each other. As a result, Naveen became Indian fans’ favorite.
During a recent event, Kohli talked about the entire controversy, taking a slight dig at fans who are hungry for spicy stories. The 35-year-old thinks the hug he shared with Gambhir and Naveen disappointed those fans.
People are very disappointed with my behavior. I hugged Naveen, and then the other day Gauti bhai hugged me. Now that they don't have anything juicy, they've started booing. We are not kids!Virat Kohli said
Meanwhile, it’s the second match of the season between KKR and RCB. They previously met in Bengaluru where the Knight Riders dominated, beating the home team by seven wickets.
