“Way too young” – MMA fraternity mourns on the demise of Elias Theodorou due to cancer
Elias Theodorou died at the age of 34
Former UFC fighter and TUF nations winner, Elias Theodorou died this Sunday after a continuous battle with cancer. Various reports of his death surfaced on the internet which confirmed the news of his death at the age of 34. According to the reports, Theodorou was suffering from stage 4 liver cancer and had not revealed about it to the public.
Theodorou made his UFC debut back in 2014 and played a total of 11 fights before he left the organisation in 2019. The fighter had a good record in UFC but in his last fight, Theodorou lost to Derek Brunson via unanimous decision.
Theodorou was an impressive fighter and a great guy with good relationships with many of his colleagues.
His death was shocking for many MMA fighters who knew him personally and all reacted to the news with sorrow and disappointment.

MMA pros react to Elias Theodorou’s demise at the young age of 34
UFC veteran Michael Chiesa was a good friend of Theodorou and couldn’t believe the news about his death. He wrote :
“Hearing the news about @EliasTheodorou. It’s hard to believe right now ? #RIP.”
Chiesa also posted a short video of him talking about his relationship with Theodorou which was extremely heartfelt.
UFC middleweight fighter, Chris Curtis showed his respect towards Theodorou by mentioning he was very young.
“Took a nap to wake up and find out Elias Theodorou has passed. Way to young. You will be missed my guy. #LONGLIVETHESPARTAN.”
UFC female legend, Miesha Tate shared his condolences on Theodorou’s death with a tweet.
“Damn #RIP ???.“
One Championship’s heavyweight champion, Arjan Singh Bhullar also reacted on the passing of the fellow Canadian. He wrote :
“This is so damn sad. Never heard a bad thing said about him and blown away he just fought less than a year ago. RIP??.”
Belal Muhammad was shocked by the news of Theodorou’s death and wrote :
“Wow Rest In Peace ???.”
Dominance MMA’s president, Ali Abdelaziz explained Theodorou’s death as a massive loss for Canada’s MMA scene.
“Canada lost a good guy ??.”
UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling revealed that Theodorou was a great guy and his death is extremely sorrowful.
“Wow. Loss for words on hearing the news on one of the nicest guys I’ve met in this sport. #RIP Elias. This is saddening”
