The Golden State Warriors were the talk of the town going into the 2023-24 NBA season. However, they disappointed many NBA fans, including the DubNation. Notably, Warriors star Draymond Green played a huge role in their decline last season. A lack of ‘self-control’ saw Green getting ejected from important games, which played a role in the Warriors missing out on the NBA Playoffs.

However, Green has issued a rallying cry and urged the Warriors to come out guns blazing in the 2024-25 NBA season. In an interview with The Athletic, Green stated that his teammate and NBA legend Stephen Curry will be crucial for the team’s hopes of winning the NBA title once again.

I know I ain’t done. I know [Steph] ain’t done. So it ain’t like, ‘All right, I feel like I’m at the end. I’m cashing it in.’ Nah. We can do that sh** again (not winning the NBA title). I know we can do it again. I’m not a part of the consortium that don’t think we can get it done.

Draymond Green told The Athletic

Green (34) and Curry (36) are the two key players still playing from the Warriors squad that won the NBA title four times (2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022). Even if stars like Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are no longer with them, Green believes Curry can lead the Warriors to another championship.

Draymond Green considers Warriors ‘home to me’

NBA legend Draymond Green has been a loyal servant to the Golden State Warriors franchise since he made his professional debut. Green and his teammate Stephen Curry have won four NBA titles together. However, the Warriors have not been performing up to their standards over the past few years.

Green made a heartwarming appeal to the Warriors’ fanbase, stating that the franchise was ‘like home to me’ and said that he cares about the franchise’s future.

This is home for me. This is like Michigan State for me. Most people don’t have an NBA home. I care what this organization looks like in 10 years. That’s going to matter to me.

Draymond Green said in an interview with The Athletic

Green’s remarks sound sincere, even though his recent actions indicate he doesn’t have his eyes on the Warriors’ present trajectory. It appears that the family name stands between the troublesome athlete and the decorated franchise, given that the Warriors handled Green as well as any organization could.
