Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar was seen glorifying ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind‘ in an old video going viral on social media. Ghazwa-e-Hind translates to “Holy War Against India.” And numerous mentions of it can be found in Hadith, a major source of religious law and moral guidance. Akhtar shares a vivid plan of how the Islamic countries will unite in an effort to conquer India. And will succeed in doing so following a gruesome battle.

It is written in our scriptures that Ghazwa-e-Hind will take place. And the river in Attock will be coloured red twice with blood. Forces from Afghanistan will reach till Attock. After those forces will rise from Shamal Mashriq, different contingents will arrive from Uzbekistan, etc. All of this refers to Khorasan, a historical region which extended till Lahore,” Akhtar said in an interview with Samaa TV.

Akhtar’s Indian fanbase left shell shocked

The term ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ is popular amongst radical Islamic preachers and terror operators who incite violence against India for decades. Infamous terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) regularly uses the term to recruit, get funds and to justify its attacks on the Indian soil. It is a widely adopted method by terror cells to convince impressionable youths that it is considered holy in Islam. And those who participate in it will be granted direct entry into paradise.

The Rawalpindi Express enjoys a huge fan base in India for his honest personality. And, of course, for his skill with the ball. But these hatred inspiring comments from Akhtar has his admirers shocked and angry. It is not every day that a cricketer or any other sportsperson is seen glorifying hatred inspiring prophecies.
