UFC Megastar Jorge Masvidal will finally seek his sadist pleasures fulfilled in a business model when he will headline the fightcard at UFC 272 against his former teammate and now bitter rival Colby Covington. Masvidal and Covington, a tale of 2 best former best friends for a better period of 8 years, now hate each other to the core and this grudge is possibly going down as one of the biggest in the UFC history.
Masvidal and Covington used to train together at the American Top Team and it was all a smooth sail until the aftermath of Covington’s fight against Rafael Dos Anjos back in 2019 for the interim UFC Welterweight title in which both Masvidal and Covington started to go all out on each other in the gym and when both were expelled and asked to come back, only Masvidal came to the gym while Covington decided to leave the gym for MMA Masters.

Regardless of their split in space and not seeing each other for as long as two years now, the bad blood hasn’t stopped boiling within both the fighters for each other, despite both the fighters living in Florida. In an interview for MMA Fighting‘s The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Masvidal explains why the fight is not happening in Miami, Florida and has been decided to happen in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I don’t think it was in much consideration,” says Masvidal “We’ll we save the Miami one for the big date, this fella [Covington] is just an idiot, he’s a big mouth. When I will fight for the championship again, then we’ll go to the Miami. But for this idiot, just get him wherever I get him you know… I will save Miami for the good.”
Masvidal also stated that Vegas would be instrumental in making huge profits of the fight as well. What do you make of the scuffle between Masvidal and Covington not being being settled in Miami? Would you have concerned over the location are you just want the fight irrespective whether it’s surrounding Miami crowd or Vegas crowd?
