Lukasz Fabianski (7.5/10): WEST HAM UNITED goalkeeper has very good with his feet. Almost all his balls were reaching his players. Made a very good save in the first half to deny Villa from getting the lead. An excellent fingertip saves from him in the 55th minute as well.
Ben Johnson (6.1/10): Gave away the ball many times easily which brought pressure for his team. Whipped in some crosses which were not good enough. Been dribbled past a few times.
Craig Dawson (7.0/10): Missed the best chance of the game where he headed the ball over the crossbar. The center was good in his defensive duties though. Distributed the well greatly. Very good at the ground and aerial duels.
Kurt Zouma (7.0/10): Looked confident at the backline. Unbeatable aerially. The center was good with his passing. Had a good first half to show for. Made some vital clearances.
Aaron Cresswell (6.9/10): The fullback was on constant overlaps and a threat down the wing. Had a fair share of the ball. Created some good chances down the left channel. Intercepted a few threats. Subbed off in the second half.

Tomas Soucek (7.2/10): Got a great chance to give his team the lead before the half-hour mark. Just missed the target with his header. Helped his team a lot defensively. Passing accuracy was good.
Declan Rice (7.3/10): The captain had a good day at the office. Dominated the midfield with possession. Did both the defensive and offensive work. His brilliance sparked the attack that led to his team’s second goal.
Manuel Lanzini (6.4/10): Committed some fouls and got carded in the first half. A bit more physical game was expected from him. Created one good chance but his team could not capitalize on it.
Said Benrahma (7.6/10): Very bright in the opening stages of the game. Forced Martinez to make a save early in the game. Quick feet in closed spaces. Dribbled past opponents easily. Was one of the quickest players on the pitch. Set up his teammate beautifully to score the second goal.
Michail Antonio (6.3/10): Not much of the treatment being the target man. Dropped back deep at times to get the ball. Created one chance. Committed some fouls and was subbed off at the beginning of the second half.
Pablo Fornals (7.0/10): Got a clear sight of goal in the first 10 minutes which he couldn’t keep on target. Good set-piece delivery. Doubled the lead for his team at the 81st minute.

Fornals makes it two! 😍

Great run from Rice. He plays it to Benrahma who pulls a ball back across the box for Fornals to strike home with his left. Superb.#WHUAVL 2-0 (82) pic.twitter.com/HuOUzhs6O5

Substitutions:
Andriy Yarmalenko (7.6/10): The Ukrainian got a standing ovation coming on for the first since the conflict began in his country. Looked lively since coming on. Made a good finish to give his team the lead.
Ryan Fredericks(6.4/10): Was not much involved in the game since coming on. Intercepted a few balls in the closing stages.
Issa Diop: N/A

Emiliano Martinez (6.6/10): ASTON VILLA goalkeeper was amidst the action in the first half. Made some good saves. Looked not convincing at times dealing with high balls. Few decent punches as well. Made a reflex save to deny West Ham.
Lucas Digne (6.0/10): Subbed off within the first 10 minutes of the game due to an injury.
Tyrone Mings (7.0/10): The captain drove the ball upfield from the back whenever possible. Did not commit any rash challenges. Made many important interceptions at the back.
Calum Chambers(6.9/10): The center-back was easily beaten at ground duels at times. Conceded some fouls at bad areas. Made some important tackles. Positioning could have been better.
Matty Cash (6.8/10): Was dribbled past easily a number of times. Lost possession at bad regions of the pitch. Cleared the ball many times to halt the West Ham attack.

Steven Gerrard makes his second change, with Leon Bailey replacing Danny Ings.

John McGinn (6.8/10): Crossed the ball many times inaccurately. Good at aerial duels in the middle of the park. Intercepted and tackled well. The final ball forward was missing from him. An average display.
Douglas Luiz (6.2/10): The holding midfielder was not joining the attack as much. Cleared well some changes that could have been a threat for his team. Bad ball distribution. Was fouled a few times.
Jacob Ramsey (8.2/10): Scored a great goal to bring Villa back in the 89th minute. Dribbled well. Did a lot of tackles and won the ball for his team at the midfield. Sparked some attacks for his team. Had a key pass to his name. An excellent show from him.
Philippe Coutinho (6.8/10): Deployed in the number 10 role, could not have as much impact. Had a shot on target in the first half. Could not thread the final ball to feed his forwards.
Danny Ings (6.7/10): Linked up well with his partner Ollie Watkins upfront. Good combination play. Tremendous work rate on display from the forward closing down players and chasing the ball.
Ollie Watkins (6.7/10): Had only 1 shot on target in the entire game. Shifted at times to overload the wings. Passing was not up to the mark as he was robbed of the ball many times.

The second half is underway…

UP THE VILLA! 🙌 #WHUAVL pic.twitter.com/7WcXvLSLII
