The main draw of the Dubai Tennis Championships is underway at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre. The final of the ATP 500 event of the Middle East Swing will be held on February 28th.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will enter the event as the defending champion. Last year, the Greek ace beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final, 6–3, 6–3, winning his career’s first ATP 500 title (lost his previous 11 finals at this level). He hasn’t yet won a title since that win. Before arriving in Dubai, Tsitsipas lost to defending champion Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals of the Qatar Open.

Auger-Aliassime is the first seed in the tournament. The Canadian ace has so far featured in two finals this season, winning the Open Sud de France by defeating Adrian Mannarino. He then lost the Rotterdam Open to Alex de Minaur. Auger-Aliassime has so far played 22 finals, clinching nine trophies.

Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev, and Jack Draper are the second, third, and fourth seeds, respectively. Bublik is bidding to win his second title of the season following his victory at the Hong Kong Open against Lorenzo Musetti. The Kazakh ace has yet to lose a final since his defeat to Ugo Humbert in the 2024 Dubai event. Since then, he has played five finals, winning all.

Medvedev has also added a title to his trophy cabinet this year. He lifted his career’s 22nd singles title by defeating Brandon Nakashima in the Brisbane International final. The 2021 US Open champion is a former winner in Dubai, winning in 2023 against Rublev.

Medvedev has yet to win a title above the ATP 250 level since the 2023 Italian Open. Last year, he ended his trophy drought by clinching the Almaty Open against Corentin Moutet, taking home his first title since winning his career’s first clay-court trophy in the Rome event in 2023.

Draper will start his campaign against Quentin Halys, which will also be his second match of the season, following a Davis Cup match. The Brit had been nursing an arm injury since last August and made his comeback in the Davis Cup but later withdrew from the Rotterdam Open. Rublev is also a former champion in Dubai, winning in 2022 against Jiri Vesely. The Russian ace has yet to win a title since lifting the 2025 Qatar Open against Draper.

Roger Federer holds the record for most titles, winning eight times, in 2003–05, 2007, 2012, 2014–15, and 2019. He also finished as runner-up in 2006 and 2011. He also shares the record of most consecutive titles with Novak Djokovic, who won in 2009–11, 2013, 2020, and finished as a runner-up in 2015.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion is not playing the Dubai Open. He was scheduled to play the Qatar Open, but he decided to withdraw from it. Djokovic made the final of this year’s Australian Open, losing the title to Carlos Alcaraz, who skipped the second ATP 500 event of the Middle East swing after clinching his career’s first title at the Qatar Open.
