JJ Redick defends Anthony Davis after recent loss.
The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Detroit Pistons in an unexpected turn of events on Monday night. The surprising loss churned in waves of media headaches for the Lakers locker room. By good fortune, the seasoned media veteran JJ Redick quickly squashed any unwarranted criticism of his players.
The Lakers coach was fed up with the media chastising Anthony Davis for their recent losses. In fact, Davis has been the best player on the squad for the team’s new campaign. As of now, the big man leads the league in points per game with talks of an MVP award hovering around.
Ironically crediting to Redick, the Lakers star is currently on the pace of 32.6 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Dropping five 30-point games in seven total games to start the season. The ‘Brow’ also dropped 37 points and 9 rebounds against the Pistons.

Redick added: “The guy can have 30 and 12 and people want more from him. … It’s just always been a thing with him when he’s been with the Lakers. That’s…
Despite an eventful outing for Davis, the Laker’s 115-103 loss to the Pistons put them at a 4-3 record. An underwhelming outcome after a promising start from the team earlier in the season. However, Redick and Davis seem to be unbothered by the chattering from the LA fans.
Cade Cunningham overshadowed Anthony Davis and the Lakers
The victory against the Los Angeles Lakers was special for the Detroit team, given it is the third win for the team this season. For context, it took the Pistons 29 losses even to eclipse 3 wins. The victory showed fans flashes of a new duo in the making, with Jaden Ivey and Cade Cunningham completely balling out in the win.
Coach JB Bickerstaff credited Cunningham for the victory after the Piston star recorded a triple-double.

In the win, Ivey totaled 26 points and 4 rebounds while Cunningham recorded 17 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds triple-double. Notably, six of the Pistons’ lineup were in double-digit scoring. Proving to be unbearable for the Lakers despite Anthony Davis’s offensive performance.
