UFC 299 is one of the most stacked fight cards in the history of the promotion. UFC star Sean O’Malley puts his bantamweight title on the line in the headliner. To make things more interesting, he will face his past rival, Marlon Vera, a.k.a. Chito Vera. He was the one to blemish O’Malley’s undefeated MMA record. Also, the co-main event had the UFC veteran Dustin Poirier returning against a dangerous up-and-coming fighter.

Despite the most anticipated UFC 300 fight card just a month away, the UFC went ahead to stack UFC 299. With Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera in the main event, the fight card didn’t need any other fighters to carry the drama part of UFC 299. With ‘Suga’ wanting to avenge his only loss and Vera wanting to attain his title dreams, the main event had it all.

The co-main event of UFC 299 was a lightweight clash between Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Saint-Denis. Poirier, coming off a knockout loss to Justin Gaethje, wanted to prove his worth in the rankings. Thus he goes against the dangerous upcoming talent Saint-Denis. ‘God of War’ was on a five-fight finish streak and aimed at UFC gold soon. Preceding this fight was the featured bout between two exciting strikers – Kevin Holland and Michael “Venum” Page.

Also, the main card will feature the return of veterans Gilbert Burns and Petr Yan taking on Jack Della Maddalena and Song Yadong, respectively. Yan vs. Yadong was rescheduled for UFC 299 after ‘No Mercy’ pulled out of the scheduled date last year. Moving to the prelims, it had many interesting fights like Jailton Almeida vs. Curtis Blaydes, Mateusz Gamrot vs. Rafael Dos Anjos, and Michel Pereira vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk.
