Global sportswear giant, Nike has roped in Naomi Osaka to headline it’s advertising campaign, titled ‘You Can’t be Stopped’. The advertisement gives the viewers a peak into the day to the day activities of the champions including Naomi Osaka. It also features the likes of Manchester United footballer, Marcus Rashford, America’s Simone Manuel and NBA superstar Kevin Durant.

The advertisement shows how the successful athletes have accomplished their career goals by finding out the answer to ‘why’. It also showcases how they kept themselves motivated amidst the covid-19 pandemic.

Naomi Osaka headlines the latest Nike campaign

Opening up the Nike advertisement, Naomi Osaka, three time Grandslam champion said, “Honestly, I’m still figuring out what my ‘why’ is. Right now I go on the court with the purpose of making history.”

Osaka won her first Grandslam title in 2018 at the US Open and became the first Japanese woman to win a Grandslam title. She said that she takes great pride in achieving the incredible feat. “I am proud to be the first Japanese person to win a Grand Slam. Of court, I like the idea of inspiring the next generation,” she said.

Naomi Osaka signed an endorsement deal with Nike in 2018 after her US Open triumph. Apart from Nike, she has signed endorsement deals with several other top brands, which led Forbes to name her as the top-earning female athlete in a calendar year.

Naomi Osaka last competed at the US Open 2020, where she won the title after defeating Victoria Azarenka in the finals in three sets. She will make her comeback at the Australian Open 2021, which begins from February 8.
