The class that the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Saturday for induction in 2025 is particularly appealing, but all Hall of Fame classes are exceptional. Members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 include Carmelo Anthony, Sue Bird, Billy Donovan, Sylvia Fowles, Dwight Howard, Maya Moore, and the Redeem Team, the 2008 USA Basketball Men’s Olympic Team.

Notably, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard are individual inductees in February’s Hall of Fame induction. But the 2008 Team USA Olympic squad is special. Following are the players of the 2008 Team USA squad:

Carlos Boozer
Jason Kidd
LeBron James
Deron Williams
Michael Redd
Dwyane Wade
Kobe Bryant (C)
Dwight Howard
Chris Bosh
Chris Paul
Tayshaun Prince
Carmelo Anthony

For the first time since NBA players started competing, the US team failed to win Olympic gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics, leading to the creation of the “Redeem Team” for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The “Golden Generation” of Argentina, captained by Hall of Famer Manu Ginobili, won the 2004 Olympics instead.

In contrast to other picks that didn’t deserve to be referred to as a dream team, this particular team, led by late NBA legend Kobe Bryant, left no room for doubt. They not only delivered the best the NBA had to offer at the moment to Beijing 2008, but they also demonstrated a level of dedication that deserved emphasis. Because it was the greatest of the best, the Dream Team/Redeem Team was reborn from that point on, at least in terms of the Olympics.

Dwight Howard got elected as ‘first ballot’ member of the Hall of Fame Class of 2025

ESPN’s Shams Charania was informed by sources that Dwight Howard became a first-ballot member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025. In addition to winning one Olympic gold medal with Team USA, Howard was also an eight-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, and an NBA champion in 2020.

The No. 1 choice of the Magic in the 2004 draft, Howard was the most dominant defensive player of his time and earned three consecutive NBA Defensive Player of the Year titles from 2009 to 2011. He also guided the Magic to the 2009 NBA Finals. In addition, Howard won his sole championship with the Los Angeles Lakers throughout the pandemic-affected 2019–20 season.

Howard made a name for himself after winning the slam dunk competition at All-Star Weekend in New Orleans in 2008. The former Magic player stunned the crowd by flying from close to the free-throw line while wearing a Superman costume, complete with a cape.

Atlanta Hawks had a hilarious Carmelo Anthony Hall of Fame induction post

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that voters selected Carmelo Anthony for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Even though Anthony played for two teams for the majority of his career, the Atlanta Hawks, the team he spent only a few days with, had the best reaction to his induction into the Hall of Fame.

The Hawks used social media to hilariously celebrate Anthony’s Hall of Fame accolade even though he didn’t play a single game with the team. Using a picture of Anthony’s never-worn team jersey, they referred to him as a “Hawks legend.” This post surely made waves in the NBA community, garnering around 603k views.

Notably, about five days after acquiring Anthony, Justin Anderson, and a protected first-round selection, the Atlanta Hawks waived the forward in 2018.
