No one believed Dricus Du Plessis could become a UFC champion in the beginning. However, he is now the current UFC middleweight champion of the world. The South African achieved the champ status last year, and has already defended his title once. While his professional career is at an all-time high, the same can be seen in his personal life.
Du Plessis likes to keep his personal life away from the limelight, and doesn’t often talk about his family. However, last year, fans found out about his girlfriend Vasti Spiller, whom the fighter has been with for a long time. In January 2025, the pair got engaged and shared pictures from the ceremony which caught the attention of many fans.
In the post, Spiller talked about how she met Dricus Du Plessis in 2022. Since then, they have been together. She thanked God for helping her meet DDP and shared her intentions to marry as soon as possible. It was a wholesome ceremony with their close friends and family in South Africa. Spiller’s mother, Ester Spiller Coetzee, and Du Plessis’ mother, Gerda Du Plessis were also present in the pictures.
The ceremony took place just a few days before Dricus Du Plessis’s title defense against Sean Strickland at UFC 312. The first fight was close and controversial, but, the champion remains confident about making it look easy this time. With new beginnings, it would be interesting to see whether ‘StillKnocks’ manages to maintain his title reign.

Dricus Du Plessis has been one of the most dominant fighters in recent times, irrespective of his awkward fighting style. The fighter has 22 professional wins out of which 20 came via knockouts and submissions. DDP uses his unorthodox style and always finds a way to win, his unpredictability and pressure have helped him become a champion.
Throughout his journey, DDP’s fiancée, Vasti Spiller has been with him. According to her Instagram account, which has over 62K followers, Spiller is a boxing coach at CIT Boxing. Du Plessis has been training under coach Morne Visser for more than ten years. Spiller also owns a successful couple photography business, Baruch Photography.
Spiller is also an ambassador of B Loved Foundation, it’s an organization that works to provide for underprivileged people. Du Plessis himself is quite a confident and humble individual. Despite the trash talking, he likes to keep things respectful. At UFC 312, it would be interesting to see how the South African fighter gets past his toughest challenge.
