When it comes to motorsports, often the its not the best driver that come out victorious in the series because of the difference in the machinery. At the end of the day the drivers with the fastest and consistent cars win races, while there is a limit to level of speed even the best can extract from the cars during race weeks.
One of these drivers who aren’t in the best cars often is RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher. The Ford driver has been the leader of the team in the Next-Gen era, despite having a champion teammate in Brad Keselowski, and has won races in all types of tracks in the last three seasons. In the recent episode of The Teardown podcast, senior NASCAR Journalist Jeff Gluck named Buescher as the criminally underrated in the garage.
His co-host Jordan Bianchi agreed with the suggestion and asserted that the No:16 Ford driver is really underrated. Bianchi backed his argument by recalling 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick making the same remarks about the veteran racer.
Jordan Bianchi claims Chris Buescher is a championship-level driver
The RFK driver is known for producing great runs, maximizing the potential of his cars, putting himself in contention for wins. He pointed out that Buescher always been good at different tracks, making him a championship level racer. The journalist admitted that it was unfortunate the RFK driver couldn’t make into the playoff after his failure to win races in the regular season.
The comments from the two journalist shows how much potential the RFK Racing driver has. If the Ford team can get the best cars on the track for him like they did in the mid-way to the 2023 season, he can soon end a Cup champion.
