The Portuguese superstar and Juventus player, Cristiano Ronaldo finds his name on the list but not his counterparts, Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. Even Kylian Mbappe is not in the list of top 10 most marketable athletes. Then the question raises who is the No 1?
The No 1 Most Marketable Athlete according to the report published in the SportsPro’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes, the United States of America gymnast, Simone Biles. Naomi Osaka, the tennis superstar, takes up the second place in the list. The Americans top the chart with four entries whereas the other six spots are filled by different nationalities.
The most Marketable Athlete 2021: The Story of Footballers
Amongst the top 50 athletes, there are 22 footballers making their presence in the list. The 35-year-old American footballer, Ashlyn Harris is the top-rated footballer in the top-50 list. Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ali Krieger are the next three participants on the list. The tenth placed is a female footballer, Alex Morgan who has an influencer score of 172, the least amongst the top 10.
The least rated footballer on the list is Manchester United box-to-box midfielder, Paul Pogba. The Frenchman is 48th on the list with an influencer score of 154. The Fenerbahce playmaker and former Gunner, Mesut Ozil finds the name on the list. The German international has 157 influencer ratings and finds himself in the 41st position.

When the above title is read, you might think the most Marketable Indian Athlete will be either Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma. But it is a wrong guess. The most Marketable Indian Athlete 2021 is Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya has even pipped the likes of famous international footballer and Argentine legend, Lionel Messi. Pandya has decorated the 11th position on the list. Moreover, Virat Kohli has failed to find the place in the list of 50 Most Marketable Athletes 2021.
Lionel Messi is poised in the 12th position whereas one more generational talent in football, Kylian Mbappe has found himself in the 23rd position. On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan is the only second Indian in the list.
On analysing the top 10 list, it is equally shared between men and women athletes. However, when we consider the top five, female athletes dominate the list with the ration 3:2.
