The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are once again meeting in the finals after a one-year hiatus. The roster has many changes, but the most striking is the absence of Jason Kelce, who was a formidable force in their successes.

Jason Kelce, who played seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, had no dilemma about what shirt he would wear on February 9. The older Kelce has confirmed that he won’t be cheering for his younger brother Travis Kelce’s team, the Chiefs, when they take on the Eagles.

I will root for the Eagles, of course, because I will always be an Eagle.

Jason Kelce said

Being a true Philadelphian, the older Kelce hasn’t forgotten the values of the city. He went on to admit that despite his allegiance and his cheering for the Eagles, he would also hope that his brother had a great game.

First and foremost. I’ll also root for Travis to have a good game, of course, cause he’s my brother, but nah, I’ll definitely be cheering on the Eagles.

In 2022, Travis and Jason Kelce became the first pair of brothers on opposing sides to play in a Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the thrilling encounter. The Chiefs cruised to yet another win in the next year, however, the Eagles crashed out of the playoffs as Jason Kelce bid adieu to his professional career.

Jason Kelce, gained attention after making an impromptu 1,000-mile journey to support his brother Travis Kelce. Travis was set to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs against the Buffalo Bills, and Jason’s trip followed closely after the Eagles’ NFC Championship victory over the Washington Commanders.

Balancing his support between the Eagles and the Chiefs proved to be a difficult decision for Jason. He admitted that with both teams playing pivotal games and professional commitments, he faced an emotional conflict over where to focus his attention on the January 26 episode of ESPN’s They Call It Late Night.

I want to be there for the Eagles, but I also want to be there for my brother. I don’t know how many more he has. We’re flying by the seat of our pants!

Jason’s experience resonates deeply with fans who understand the emotional struggle of divided loyalties in sports. Growing up together in Cleveland, Ohio, the Kelce brothers shared not only a passion for football but also countless memories of playing for the same high school team and sharing a room filled with sibling camaraderie. These cherished moments serve as a reminder of the bond that makes their journey in professional football even more special.
