Mike Evans had a great week of football—the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured the NFC South—he crossed 1000 receiving yards, furthering his cause as a future Hall of Famer. The Florida governor decided to bestow the Super Bowl-winning wide receiver with a unique honor.
By crossing 1000 yards in the Buccaneers’ final-day win over divisional rivals the New Orleans Saints, Evans became only the second receiver after legendary Jerry Rice to record 1000 receiving yards in 11 consecutive seasons. The achievement called for something special and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared January 10th as Mike Evans Day.
DeSantis further included several other notable records set by Evans during his time in the NFL.

Mike Evans is ready for the playoffs
The Buccaneers qualified as the third seed in the NFC and are set to face NFC East’s Washington Commanders who finished 12-5 and second behind the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though the Commanders won two more games compared to the Buccaneers, head coach Dan Quinn is extremely wary of Evans.
In a recent presser, Quinn recounted his days of coaching Florida and going up against Evans.
Evans has played a total of 9 playoff games (including a Super Bowl appearance) in his NFL career. In those games, he recorded 45 catches for 709 yards and five touchdowns. The Buccaneers are currently -167 favorites to beat the Commanders.
