The superstar of tennis from Switzerland possesses a skill set that is good enough to bamboozle almost everyone in the game. However, the 20 Grand Slam titleholder has been out of form for the past few months.
The world was taken by surprise when Roger Federer decided to withdraw from the fourth round of the French Open as he wasn’t completely fit. Post that, he hasn’t really tasted a lot of success. After French Open, Federer was knocked out in the second round at the Halle Open and it was evident that his knees were making it difficult for him to stay on the court.
Federer to miss US Open 2021; to undergo another knee surgery

Federer has had a string of knee injuries that have prevented him from participating in several tournaments in the recent past. Fans were delighted when he recovered after he was operated on his knees, but Federer again aggravated his injuries after participating in Wimbledon.
Federer reached the quarter-finals at the grass-court Grand Slam but his journey was halted by Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets. Hurkacz even bageled Federer in the final set which shocked experts and fans. Post that, Federer has stayed away from the action.
Moreover, after missing the Tokyo Olympics, Federer finally revealed that he would have to undergo another knee surgery. The Swiss tennis star’s decision did come as a surprise to many, but his love for the game and undying spirit to take the field were highly appreciated.
Federer, much like Rafael Nadal will miss the rest of the 2021 season which eventually means that the champion player will miss the US Open as well. Federer fans would be praying for his speedy recovery so that they can yet again witness the great man’s sheer brilliance on the court.
