Why LA Knight should dethrone Logan Paul for the US Championship
WWE planted the seeds for this match a couple of weeks ago on SmackDown.

A week ago, Logan Paul‘s reign as the United States Champion surpassed the 200-day mark. And let’s just say that it hasn’t been up to the mark. Since he defeated Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel last year, the Maverick has defended the title only twice. Therefore, the question begs to be answered: not only when should he drop the title but also to whom? Without a doubt, the most obvious choice is none other than LA Knight.
For almost a year, WWE has been teasing a match between Knight and Paul. In fact, as soon as the Social Media Megastar clinched the US title, fans straightaway predicted that the former TNA star would dethrone him. Therefore, many were shocked when the promotion didn’t pull the trigger on the bout at this year’s WrestleMania. Instead, the YouTuber-turned-wrestler competed in a triple-threat match involving Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

Meanwhile, Knight settled his personal rivalry with AJ Styles. Prior to the Showcase of Immortals, The Megastar openly expressed his desire to win a championship in WWE. Despite his limited on-screen appearances since the two-night extravaganza, the 41-year-old has somehow managed to maintain his popularity. On the other hand, the WWE Universe has grown tired of part-time champions, especially after a certain Tribal Chief seldom defended his title.
As for the time and location, one can argue that this year’s SummerSlam is a fitting event for LA Knight‘s coronation. The latter defeating Logan Paul in his hometown would certainly be a fitting end to his championship reign. And it does seem that the promotion is inching closer to the eventual match. For those unaware, Knight and Paul recently faced off on SmackDown, most likely planting the seeds for their much-anticipated bout.
Logan Paul pitched King and Queen of the Ring frog splash spot in 2023
While Logan Paul may not be having the best title reign, there’s no doubt that he’s incredibly talented in the ring. At King and Queen of the Ring, the 29-year-old continued to impress fans in his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes. In one of the most talked-about spots of the night, the Maverick delivered an insane frog splash on Rhodes while a 360° camera shot the entire spot.

After the match, Paul revealed that he had pitched the spot a year ago. The Social Media Megastar initially wanted to perform the move at WrestleMania 39. However, issues at the venue prevented that from happening. He further added that he wanted to creatively push media boundaries. If that was indeed the goal, then the United States Champion did an incredible job of accomplishing it.
