WILD fan who fought Merab Dvalishvili joins Team Khabib ahead of UFC 311 fight

The UFC 310 PPV card showcased impressive performances. However, there were several controversial and talked-about moments throughout the night. One notable incident involved the UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili, who had an altercation with a fan. Interestingly, just hours later, Dvalishvili’s rival, Umar Nurmagomedov, was seen hanging out with his team.
The fight card featured some of the top UFC prospects and contenders. Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling fought at UFC 310. His teammate, Merab Dvalishvili, who shares a strong camaraderie with Sterling, was present in his corner. Unfortunately, after Sterling’s loss, an altercation occurred between his teammates and a fan, with Dvalishvili being a prominent figure in that exchange.
Interestingly, hours later, the same fan was spotted hanging around with Umar Nurmagomedov, who is Dvalishvili’s upcoming opponent. Not only that, the entire Team Khabib was also present at the UFC 310 fight night. Subsequently, Dvalishvili seemed to lash out at Umar. As such, the UFC bantamweight champion blamed the ‘Young Eagle’ for the fan altercation.

According to Dvalishvili, the person he got into an altercation with was not just a fan but a friend of Umar and several other Dagestani fighters. The UFC bantamweight champion also explained that it was the fan who provoked and insulted him. In response to this disrespect, Dvalishvili reacted by throwing his hands. This incident was widely shared, prompting reactions from prominent figures in the UFC community.

Merab Dvalishvili is not one to overlook disrespectful comments directed at him. Over the years, there have been several instances where the Georgian fighter has engaged in public altercations with fans. However, a recent incident did not sit well with many, including his former rival, Sean O’Malley, who reacted to it.
Dvalishvili crowned himself as the bantamweight champion at the Noche UFC fight night. The Georgian fighter comfortably defeated O’Malley by unanimous decision. Interestingly, since that fight, the Montana native has taken every opportunity to criticize Dvalishvili. As a result, O’Malley also mocked the UFC bantamweight champion for engaging in a confrontation with a fan.

Interestingly, O’Malley expressed a desire for a rematch, believing he won his fight against Dvalishvili. However, the results indicated otherwise. As a result, he has lashed out at the newly crowned bantamweight champion on several occasions. Currently, Dvalishvili is scheduled to fight Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 311 while O’Malley looks to recover from surgery.
