Throughout history, certain individuals have dominated their fields, showcasing unmatched talent and skill beyond ordinary human capabilities. Among these legends, a select few stand even higher, achieving extraordinary feats that set them apart from all others in history. Floyd Mayweather and Stephen Hawking exemplify this rare elite class, each mastering their respective domains with unparalleled brilliance and impact on the world.

Popular comedian and sports enthusiast Andrew Schulz recently joined MMA reporter Ariel Helwani for an engaging interview about various topics. During their conversation, Schulz enthusiastically introduced Floyd Mayweather into the discussion. According to Schulz, Mayweather’s unparalleled achievements solidify his place among the greatest individuals of all time across all fields.

I think Floyd is the greatest great. Like I think Floyd is better at boxing than Stephen Hawking was at science. I don’t think anybody’s been as great at a thing as Floyd has been at boxing. Floyd never lost. I hv seen Floyd wobble like a handful of times and that’s it.

Mayweather boasts an undefeated 50-0 professional boxing record, winning world titles in five weight classes: super featherweight to light middleweight. He secured 15 major world championships, including WBC, WBA, and IBF belts, while defeating legends like Manny Pacquiao and Canelo Alvarez. His defensive mastery, business acumen, and dominance cement his legacy as boxing’s greatest defensive fighter and pay-per-view king.

On the other hand, Stephen Hawking revolutionized theoretical physics with groundbreaking work on black holes. His book A Brief History of Time made complex science accessible worldwide. Despite battling ALS for decades, he inspired millions with his resilience, intellect, and contributions to cosmology. His influence on modern science is undeniable.

After Schulz made this comparison, fight fans were quick to jump into the debate. They suggested other sportspeople who are more suitable than Mayweather for his debate. Names such as Michael Jordan, Lionel Messi, and Wayne Gretzky were some of them. However, in the interview, he made some points which is recognized by other top commentators.

However, he lacked knockout power from the middle part of his career, which denied him of highlight reel finishes, winning most bouts on points. His competitive edge, unmatched work ethic, and strategic brilliance allowed him to outclass powerful opponents, securing victories through skill. Joe Rogan once talked about what makes Mayweather the GOAT of boxing despite the lack of finishes.

If you look at boxing in terms of how often you get hit and how often you hit the other guy, he’s the best ever. The way him and his uncle and his father talk, I imagine they were always super competitive from the time they were young. They are competitive about talking s***, they’re competitive about all kinds of things.

Rogan has often mentioned that fans dislike Mayweather because of his defensive style, which prioritizes avoiding damage over delivering exciting knockouts. Many casual viewers prefer action-packed fights, while Mayweather’s calculated approach frustrates those seeking brawls. His confident, sometimes arrogant persona and flaunting of wealth also alienate some fans.

Additionally, his dominance made fights predictable, with opponents rarely landing clean shots. Despite his technical brilliance, some fans view his undefeated record as boring rather than impressive, leading to mixed reactions. As the legendary Mike Tyson once said, Mayweather is very delusional and wasn’t in the same realm as the likes of Muhammad Ali
