After the success of last season, the Detroit Lions entered the 2024 season even stronger, marking their sixth consecutive victory in Week 9. And the stadium chanting “Jared Goff” is a true testament to his success and impact on fans.

Heading for the road game at historic Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers were heavily favored to win, particularly given the weather conditions. However, the Lions took control from the very first quarter and ultimately secured a dominating victory, 24-14, against all odds.

The Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff was truly the star of the game as he completed 18 out of his 22 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. And the audience made sure he knew that as they began chanting “Jared Goff! Jared Goff!” at the Lambeau Field

The chants by the Lions’ fans were evident through the TV audio as FOX Sports streamed the game on Sunday. This feat marked Goff as the first quarterback to win three consecutive games at the historic Lambeau Stadium.

Despite the home-game advantage, the Packers dropped around six passes, threw a pick-six, and mishandled three crucial shotgun snaps. Meanwhile, their opponents– despite being at a disadvantage due to the weather, managed to record zero drops, fumbles, turnovers, or even any bad snaps.

Jared Goff declares Lions “chameleons” after impressive road win

With a sixth consecutive win, the Lions are now ranked top of the NFC North with a 7-1 season standing. The Week 9 game against Green Bay was the Lions’ first road game this season, which they won against all odds and labeled themselves as the “chameleons”– referencing their capability to adapt to any weather conditions.

We’re supposed to be the dome team who can’t play outside. We’re supposed to be the team that can only win one way, and I think we’ve shown a handful of times that we can win in multiple ways. We’re chameleons, and whatever it takes to win in whatever way, that’s what we’re going to do.

Jared Goff said in the post-game press conference

After winning seven out of the first eight games for the first time since 1956, the Lions’ confidence skyrocketed as head coach Dan Campbell asserted that his team is “built to win,” regardless of the environment they are given. While appreciating his players, he gave special praise to the star quarterback for taking care of the football, which made a big difference.
