Through six weeks, the Tennessee Titans haven’t had the best results. Starting 1-4 early in the season, The Titans seem headed for a third consecutive losing season in 2024. The primary cause of Titans’ worry and troubles stems from a worrisome center.

Will Levis, the Titans’ starting quarterback, isn’t a fan favorite, no thanks to poor performance and poor judgments leading to early losses. He had game-losing turnovers in the first three games before sustaining an injury in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. After a break, Levis continued the underwhelming show with his seventh interception of this season against the Indianapolis Colts.

Amid the rocky start, Levis isn’t too worried about their circumstances. In a statement released by the Tennessee Titans, Levis stated that he is highly confident in himself heading into the next week.

High. I was disappointed how I let myself dip for that brief period of time. But I feel like I am back, and I am not going to let myself lose that again. I think the second you lose that edge it is hard to come back from. You just have to maintain that to be able to go out there and have that confidence and mindset to do what you are capable of.

Will Levis stated

The 25-year-old announced that he was not willing to be ruled by the numbers and statistics of his performance. Levis expressed that he knows and defines himself.

I am making sure I remind myself every day, regardless of what my box score or stat line looks like. I know who I am, and at the end of the day, numbers, or whatever anyone has to say, doesn’t define me.

Will Levis added

His statistics might not be Levis’ important criterion of judgment, however, eventually, they reflect a quarterback’s prowess. He ranks 15th in the NFL for completion rate at 66.4%, and is 19th in touchdown rate, sitting at 4.0%. However, his yards per attempt are low, placing him 28th with 5.6 yards.

Tiki Barber thinks Will Levis playing conservative is the reason he’s not succeeding

NFL Analyst on CBS Tiki Barber broke down his reasons behind Will Levis’ poor performances in the first six weeks of the league. Barber noted that Levis has transitioned into playing conservatively compared to last year. Furthermore, Barber attributed some of Levis’ best performances to taking risks and playing along with the situations.

The NFL Analyst explained that Levis is trying to be perfect for the coach. He further explains that the Massachusetts native is being more careful, taking longer time to make decisions.

He’s trying to be what the head coach wants him to be. But it’s not what made him. He’s playing conservative and it’s a stark contract to what made him somewhat successful a year ago.

Tiki Barber said

Barber also put some blame on the Titans’ offensive line as well. He expressed that there are issues with the right tackle position, name-dropping Nicholas Petit-Frere and Leroy Watson.

The Titans are facing a huge opponent, fresh off a bolstering divisional rival – the Buffalo Bills, on Sunday. Levis needs to clean his act up pretty fast or he could be shown the doors faster than he thinks.
