Will Ospreay was considered one of the biggest free agents in the market before he joined AEW. Many fans, including AJ Styles, wanted him to join the WWE. The charismatic high-flyer revealed that The Phenomenal One reached out to him while he was still a free agent.

While speaking on AEW Unrestricted, he stated that AJ Styles did try to convince him to join WWE. However, he admitted that joining AEW was ultimately the right thing to do. Will Ospreay showed the utmost respect for the 46-year-old veteran and even called him his mentor and a hero.

AJ was on the phone to me when he was trying to, I guess the right word would be ‘sway’ in making my decision on which company I should (sign with). And it flatters me because AJ is my hero, everything I wanted to become... but for me, coming (to AEW) was the right thing to do. I just knew coming here, I wanted to make a difference, I wanted to be part of a change in the culture.

Mark Henry shared his opinions on the match between Will Ospreay and Daniel Bryan

While speaking on the Busted Open Radio, The World’s Strongest Man discussed the events that happened at AEW Dynasty pay-per-view last week. He called Danielson one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and expected that kind of performance from him. However, the thing which surprised him the most was how well The Aerial Assassin told the story to the audience.

Bryan is one of the best wrestlers that ever lived. And he proved it again and again, but last night, Dave, everybody expected Will Ospreay to go out there and fly and flip and do … no, slow down. They told a beautiful story. It was really aggressive, they worked so closely to each other. They gave us what I don’t think the fans realized that Will could work a match like that.

The former World Champion would label this match as the epitome of pure wrestling and considered himself lucky to be able to witness it. Although both superstars traded devastating blows with each other, Ospreay finished the match with a Hidden Blade.

Following the nasty landing on the neck during the match, The Dragon looked in immense pain. It’s still not confirmed whether it was a legitimate injury or if it was just a part of the storyline.
