After quitting WWE on this week’s Raw, it took only four days for Drew McIntyre to re-emerge. The two-time WWE Champion appeared on SmackDown to exact revenge on CM Punk. The latter had cost the Scot his big moment at Clash at the Castle. In response, McIntyre capitalized on The Best in the World showing up in Chicago and returned the favor.

The Scottish Warrior brutalized a ‘bloody’ Punk, showcasing him to the live audience. As such, an enraged Nick Aldis had to come out and separate McIntyre from his rival. Having said that, the former Intercontinental Champion’s actions might cost him dearly. Despite quitting, he showed up unannounced and attacked an already injured WWE star. Therefore, it is very likely that he might face severe punishment.

The 39-year-old can be suspended or fined by the General Manager of Raw, Adam Pearce. However, given his recent exploits, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were fired. Of course, this would build toward the mega SummerSlam match with CM Punk. Although The Second City Saint said he would provide an injury update tonight, he had mentioned nothing of the sort.

However, he is expected to be cleared for in-ring action soon. All in all, the segment on last night’s SmackDown proved why the rivalry between Punk and McIntyre is the hottest ongoing storyline in WWE. Moreover, it makes a case for the eventual match to main event The Biggest Party of the Summer.

After his loss at Clash at the Castle, fans eagerly anticipated Drew McIntyre‘s next step. On Raw, he dropped a massive bombshell and walked out of WWE. Later, he deactivated his X account, sparking speculation about his future.

Following his attack last night, The Scottish Warrior took little to no time to send a message online. The two-time WWE Champion brought back his X account and posted a still from the television show “The Boys.” In another post, he changed his profile photo to a picture of a ‘bloody’ CM Punk.

McIntyre has certainly made this rivalry personal. In fact, he snatched The Second City Saint’s “AJ Lee/Larry” bracelet and kept it in his pocket. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming weeks.
