The 2025 NASCAR Cup season marked yet another impressive year for Hendrick Motorsports and their young phenom, William Byron. He finished the season fourth in the points table with three wins, 11 top five, 16 top 10s, 1,330 laps led to his name. For the third straight year in his career, he failed to make the championship-4 entry count, while his teammate Kyle Larson got the trophy.

Recently the star driver was asked about his 2025 season and how he feels about the 2025 season, that also saw him win the regular season championship over the likes of Kyle Larson along with Denny Hamlin. The No:24 Chevy driver William Byron pointed out that he is really proud of their season, that started with the Daytona 500 win and called it the best season of his career.

Winning the Regular Season Championship and winning the (Daytona) 500 (and) three races a year is something to really be proud of. So yeah, I feel like it was our best year yet, honestly, but it was a lot of adversity and a lot of things that happened all the way to the end.

William Byron said via nascar.com.

Furthermore, he recalled how they came close to winning the championship, before a restart changed everything for him and gave Kyle Larson the opportunity to win the Bill France Cup, the second ever for the No:5 Chevy team. He is working on moving past it and taking advantage of his best ever year for the upcoming 2026 season.

I mean, it seems like a lot changed for us in the results column with about three laps to go this year. We’ve just got to learn from that — and a lot of it was kind of out of our control. But yeah, just gotta move past it. But I think overall, yeah, it was our best year.

Ryan Blaney holds a similar feeling about his 2025 season as William Byron

2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney also had an impressive year, despite not making into the final four and he believes it was a better season than 2024. Four wins, 15 top five, 19 top 10s, 852 laps led earned him P6 finish in the points table.

I know that we didn’t make the Champ 4 this year, but I feel like this team was even better than last year — just our integrity of how we clawed back from some early miscues, a lot of DNFs early.

Ryan Blaney said via nascar.com.

Multiple DNFs at the start of the season was a major setback for the team, but they showed resilience and mental strength to make a comeback. This makes him proud about being part of the No:12 Team Penske Racing squad.

Just the mental strength of this whole group, I was really proud. I was proud of my guys for getting better and better every week and every year.

Ryan Blaney added.

The comments from the Ford driver seems rational and on point. He failed to be in the title contention, but showed massive improvement compared to previous years that would eventually make them championship contenders in the 2026 season and beyond.
