William Saliba is undoubtedly one of the best center backs in game. The Arsenal man has dropped masterclass after masterclass as fans deservedly refer to him as a Rolls-Royce defender. Saliba’s performances for France are no different, as he often gets praised for his effortless displays and game-winning moments.
In a recent interview, William Saliba said that he does in fact, consider himself as one of the best. He also said that he’s worked his way to the top and put in a lot of effort to make the list.
I have to win some titles. It's the thing I have missed. If you win titles, you can say that you're the best.William Saliba told Central Fox
His performances of late have attracted interest from Real Madrid, with the Los Blancos planning to sign either Saliba or Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero. Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have the Arsenal backline under lockdown, with David Raya only having to pick up the ball from his net once in their first five games. The club are second after accumulating ten points from their first four games.
Arsenal identify Barcelona star as January transfer target
Arsenal were extremely busy in the transfer market, bringing in Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino and Raheem Sterling among others. The Gunners have started to bridge the gap between themselves and defending champions Manchester City, with the club set to add more players to the squad in the coming transfer window.

As per reports, Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster Arsenal’s squad depth, with French fullback Jules Kounde being his primary target. Arteta believes that Kounde can be a ‘key piece’ to their game plan. The club are willing to shell out close to €50 million to convince the Blaugrana who signed him from Sevilla in 2022. That being said, it is unclear whether Hansi Flick and club management are willing to let go of the versatile player.
Barcelona President Joan Laporta earlier stated that the 25-year-old is a key element of the club’s long-term plan. Kounde is a starter under Flick and hasn’t said or done anything that suggests him wanting a move away from the club. Kounde has started every single game so far for the club and will most likely feature at right back for the game against Monaco.
