Second seed Novak Djokovic will be up against ninth seed Alex de Mianur in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. The World No. 2 comes into the match after a comfortable victory against Holger Rune, while the Australian is fresh off a victory against Arthur Fils.
It is the 15th time that Djokovic has made it to the quarterfinals at the grass Major, surpassing Jimmy Connors (14) and is only behind Roger Federer (18) now. With seven titles already in the bag, the Serbian now is aiming for a record-equalling eighth title at SW19.

Novak Djokovic vs. Alex de Minaur: Match Preview
World No. 9 Alex de Minaur entered Wimbledon with some good preparation and it has helped him come this far in the tournament. The 25-year-old has lost only one set in the tournament so far and will be hoping to continue the same.
On the other hand, Novak Djokovic entered SW19 with no preparations as he was busy recovering from knee surgery. Despite the obvious challenges, he has had an exceptional run so far, losing only two sets in four matches. He has been getting better with each match at SW19, as seen in his straight-sets win against Holger Rune.
Novak Djokovic vs. Alex de Minaur: Match Prediction
Two top players will play it out for a place in the semifinals and nothing less than an incredible nail-biter is expected. Djokovic and De Minaur have faced each other three times so far, with two of their meeting taking place earlier this year.
While the Serbian has a 2-1 lead in their head-to-head, his sole defeat to the Australian came at the United Cup this season. Even though the odds favor the World No. 2, De Minaur is expected to put up a good fight.
There is also a small chance of retirement from either player as De Minaur suffered from back issues in his last match while Djokovic’s knee remains unpredictable, making this match susceptible to a possible retirement. That said, Djokovic should be able to brush past the 25-year-old and reach the semifinals.
Prediction: Novak Djokovic to win in four sets.
