Jelena Ostapenko has yet to drop a set since arriving at 2024 Wimbledon. The in-form Latvian has had total dominance in all her matches, with none reaching a tiebreak. She will be facing a tricky Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova in the quarterfinals.

Ahead of Wimbledon, Krejcikova was one of the least favorite to reach the round of 16, having exited in the first round of Eastbourne. The Czech Republic star has somehow managed to hit her best form of the season at the All-England Club.

The former French Open champion arrived at the SW19 with two wins on grass. Nevertheless, she has been playing one of her best tennis, beating Daria Snigur and Bernarda Pera in the opening rounds. She defeated Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 16 taking her record to 24-12 this season.

Barbora Krejcikova began her season, reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open before losing to Sabalenka. However, after that, she managed only one win from February to March and struggled with injury. She returned during the clay season but couldn’t win a single match. Nonetheless, in the grass season, she found her form.

Krejcikova played her best tennis at the Birmingham Classics but succumbed to a defeat against Anastasia Potapova in the quarterfinals. At Wimbledon, she beat Veronika Kudermetova and Katie Volynets in the first and second round, respectively. In the third round, she won via walkover from Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. The Czech Republic star surprisingly defeated 11th-seeded Danielle Collins in straight sets in the fourth round.

On paper, Ostapenko is by far the favorite to win the match, having had better form this season compared to Krejcikova. But, this year’s Wimbledon has revealed that no player is unbeatable. Krejcikova will be looking to do her best against Ostapenko, but the Latvian has higher chances to win the match.
