Karolina Muchova vs. Coco Gauff: Match Preview
Karolina Muchova has had an incredible season by her standards. The Czech star won the Qatar Open in February and then reached the semi-finals of the Miami Open. She fell short against Elena Rybakina in Stuttgart after reaching the final. At Bad Homburg, she produced a remarkable performance to win the championship.
The 10th seed has not lost a match since falling to Madison Keys at the Berlin Tennis Open. She opened her campaign at Wimbledon with a straight-sets victory over Anastasia Zakharova. Muchova then defeated Zhang Shuai, Mananchaya Sawangkaew and 2024 champion Barbora Krejcikova. After those victories, she overcame Naomi Osaka 7-6(6), 6-4 to reach the semi-finals for the first time in her career.

On the other hand, Coco Gauff is yet to win a title this season. She has reached two finals, both at WTA 1000 tournaments, but has lost both matches. Gauff hasn’t been in her best form in the last couple of weeks before Wimbledon. She lost to Anastasia Potapova in the third round of the French Open and crashed out of the Berlin Tennis Open in the round of 16.
At the All England Club, she has dropped three sets, but has found a way to win her matches. She defeated Tamara Korpatsch 6-2, 6-1, before overcoming Argentine star Solana Sierra 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(7). The former US Open champion beat Claire Liu 6-3, 6(5)-7, 6-2 and then produced comeback victories against Belinda Bencic 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 and Jessica Pegula 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the semi-finals.
Karolina Muchova vs. Coco Gauff: Match Prediction
Karolina Muchova is yet to win a Grand Slam despite reaching the semi-finals of all four major tournaments. She has been one of the few standout players that often produces top-notch performances in big tournaments. However, she has to find a way to finally win a Grand Slam, and Wimbledon is her biggest chance of doing so.

All the women’s singles players left in the Wimbledon draw have never won the title, which means no player has a better experience than the other. That now boils down to who wants the title more. Coco Gauff needs her first title of the season, her first since the Wuhan Open in October, and her third Grand Slam.
The 22-year-old leads Muchova 6-1 in their head-to-head record on tour. She had won their last six meetings on tour until Muchova brought her winning streak over her to an end at the Stuttgart Open. Gauff’s past four matches at Wimbledon have all gone to three sets, but the seventh seed’s fighting spirit and supreme athleticism have seen her through to the last four. However, her unforced errors have been her biggest weak point at the tournament.
Match Prediction: Karolina Muchova to win in three sets.
