Iga Swiatek vs. Amanda Anisimova: Match Preview
Iga Swiatek will be playing her second final of the season. She entered Wimbledon following her defeat to Jessica Pegula in the Bad Homburg Open final. It was also her first-ever singles final on grass.

It was for the first time since the 2024 Roland Garros that Swiatek was successful in progressing to a singles final. And since lifting her fourth Roland Garros title, Swiatek hasn’t yet won a title.
This year, except for the Italian Open (which Swiatek played to defend her title but ended up losing to Danielle Collins in the third round), Swiatek has made it to the semifinals of every tournament she has played this season. On the clay swing, Swiatek played the Italian Open as well as the Madrid Open to defend her title, but ended up losing both.
At the French Open too, she failed to defend her title, as Aryna Sabalenka clinched a three-set win in the semifinals. Swiatek was bidding to win her fifth French Open title.
Amanda Anisimova, on the other hand, has won one title so far in the season. She beat Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets to lift the Qatar Open, the first WTA 1000 title of her career.
Apart from this, she also reached the Queen’s Club Championships final- her first final on grass. But she couldn’t cross the final hurdle in the form of Tatjana Maria. Like Swiatek, the American ace too will be playing the second grass-court final of her career at Wimbledon.
If Anisimova lifts the Wimbledon title, she will become the third American woman this season to win a Grand Slam title. Sabalenka, this year, has lost all her Grand Slam matches to American players.
Madison Keys lifted the Australian Open (her first Grand Slam title) by denying Sabalenka her third consecutive title there. At the French Open then, Coco Gauff eked out a win over Sabalenka to lift her second Grand Slam singles title of her career.
The semifinal win was also Anisimova’s sixth victory over the three-time Grand Slam singles champion in their ninth encounter. It was the second time Anisimova locked horns with Sabalenka this year following the Roland Garros fourth round, which the 27-year-old won.
Iga Swiatek vs. Amanda Anisimova: Match Prediction
Before this season, Swiatek produced her best performance at Wimbledon when she reached the quarterfinals in 2023. Anisimova was the quarterfinalist here in 2022. Last year, the World No.12 failed to qualify for the main draw, while the Pole was defeated in the third round by Yulia Putintseva.

Swiatek will be squaring off against Anisimova for the first time in her career. Choosing the winner is a bit difficult given that both players have reached a grass-courts final this season.
Match prediction: Iga Swiatek to win in three sets.
