The 2024 Wimbledon men’s singles final be played between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic on Sunday, 14th July, at 6 pm local time. The final will be played on the prestigious Centre Court, as per tradition and on the outdoor court rather than the closed roof. This year’s edition is the 138th of the Wimbledon Championship and the tournament is considered the home of tennis.
The winner of Sunday’s final will receive a prize money of £2.7 million (approximately $3.4 million), which is a significant 15% higher than the 2023 winner’s prize. Last year, the winner, Alcaraz, took home a whooping £2.35 million (approximately $2.9 million) after winning his maiden Wimbledon at the All England Club.
In regards to the tournament’s history, Swiss Maestro Roger Federer is the most decorated women’s singles champion in Wimbledon history. The 42-year-old won eight Wimbledon singles titles, the last in 2017. The closest to his record is Djokovic with seven titles.
Djokovic will be hoping to reach the Federer’s record by winning the title on Sunday. The Serbian last won it in 2022 beating Nick Kyrgios in four sets. He failed to defend the title last year losing it to Alcaraz in an epic five-set thriller. Sunday, will be a repeat of the 2023 final, which Alcaraz is aiming to defend following his maiden victory at the French Open.

The winner of Sunday’s final is too close to call, with both Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic came into the tournament as favorites. They have met five times in their career, with Djokovic leading 3-2 in their head-to-head, however, the stat will be likely be irrelevant tomorrow.

Alcaraz, No.3 seed, was favorite and maintained his position by beating Frances Tiafoe, Ugo Humbert, Tommy Paul and Daniil Medvedev to reach his second consecutive Wimbledon final. On the other hand, Djokovic came into the tournament a few weeks after undergoing surgery but has proven he is an excellent winner.
He beat Jacob Fearnley and Alexei Popyrin in the second and third round, dropping one set each. He then beat Danish Holger Rune in the fourth round before walking over to the semifinals after Alex de Minaur withdrew due to injury. He beat Lorenzo Musetti in three set to earn his tenth Wimbledon final.
