Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, in a recent interview, opened up about his future at the club amid rumors linking him to an exit. The 31-year-old player expressed his intention to stay with the team and contribute to its success.

Harry Maguire has experienced a challenging few seasons at Old Trafford, frequently facing criticism for the team’s poor performances. Despite a weary campaign last season, Manchester United finished the season on a high by beating Man City to win the FA Cup final. Additionally, the center-back, who made 22 Premier League appearances last term after dealing with numerous injuries, made an impressive return to form last season.

After being left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad due to a calf injury, there have been rumors that United might look to sell their prized center-back. In an interview, Maguire, however, expressed optimism about his future at the club, having been assured that he is a key part of the club’s plans for the future. Expressing his intent to stay, the ex-Leicester star added that it is time for the players to push forward and challenge for major trophies, reclaiming the club’s lost legacy.

Ex-Manchester United star Dwight Yorke, suggested the Red Devils to be ruthless and get rid of erroneous defender Harry Maguire, after an injury-marred season. There have been rumors of Chelsea willing to sign the 31-year-old, as a replacement for Brazilian Thiago Silva.

The 52-year-old former star stated that the club should have sold Maguire when they had the chance, but missed the opportunity. He argued that Maguire’s position in the squad is secured due to his contract, making it difficult to offload him. Nevertheless, he urged the Red Devils to be ruthless and sell the player, as they have other options available, such as Lisandro Martinez and Leny Yoro.
