The Finn got off to a strong start to the week by defeating American Denis Kudla in straight sets, with one service break in each set. After beating the intriguing styles of Bublik in the second round, he proceeded to the last 16. He advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Frenchman Benoit Paire in the last 16. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Richard Gasquet to advance to the semis, where he will face Ilya Ivashka.
