After Mike Tomlin stepped down as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, naturally, the focus would shift to the next head coach and how it would impact Aaron Rodgers‘ future.
The 42-year-old has faced the same situation twice, even though he still holds Matt LaFleur in high regard. Despite that, many would argue that the current Green Bay Packers head coach had seemingly preferred the younger Jordan Love over Rodgers.
The scenario repeated at the New York Jets, as then-incoming head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey made it clear that they preferred to start the rebuild without the then-oldest player in the league.
It’s not that the Pittsburgh Steelers need to find their quarterback, they need to find their young quarterback… If you don’t have a young star quarterback, you have no shot in that conference. There’s way too many good ones. Not only now, but for the next decade.
Dan Orlovsky said on NFL Live
This is coming from someone who has been in Aaron Rodgers’ corner for the past few years and more. For him to say this out loud that the Pittsburgh Steelers need a young QB to contend in the competitive AFC, then he also may have resigned to the thought that the QB might be done.

Dan Orlosvky was giving out this suggestion to the next head coach. The only thing that can stop them from bringing in a good young QB is the lack of options, as the player has to be close to Rodgers’ capabilities if they are to compete.
Steelers’ owner is not confident Aaron Rodgers will stay
No matter what suggestions are thrown out there, it is not a secret that if coaxed, Aaron Rodgers could stay back for another year and help the incoming head coach go through his transition period.

Aaron came here to play for Mike. I think it will affect his decision.

This was the Pittsburgh Steelers’ owner, who believes Mike Tomlin’s exit could impact his QB’s decision. After all, Rodgers continuously expressed his gratitude to his now-former head coach for bringing him to Pennsylvania when the QB felt his career was in tatters.
Art Rooney II says he thinks Tomlin's decision to walk away will affect Aaron Rodgers' future:

The California Golden Bear might want to continue, but the next Steelers’ head coach will still have to convince him of his plan for the 2026 season.
If it happens to be someone inexperienced, who ends up sounding unsure of how to manage the yellow and black in their post Mike Tomlin era, Aaron Rodgers might bail and end his otherwise stellar NFL career.
Steelers want to continue winning post-Mike Tomlin era
The Pittsburgh Steelers are just going to start looking for their next head coach, as Mike Tomlin bid adieu after that embarrassing loss to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round.
This means they are a day or two behind the other teams, who have already completed interviews with prospective candidates. Whoever they end up choosing, their owner at least hopes the new head coach can continue winning.
Whether you call it a rebuild or not, I don’t like that word very much, we’ll try to compete Day 1 if we can.

Art Rooney II’s answer could give an indication of what he might be expecting from this search for the next head coach. He wants to continue winning, as he knows they have a team that can win.
Art Rooney II on if he considers this a rebuild with a new HC: "Whether you call it a rebuild or not, I don't like that word very much, we'll try to compete Day 1 if we can."

Therefore, it could be that the Steelers hire a candidate with head coaching experience, which could convince Aaron Rodgers to stay. That way, they will stay legitimate for the immediate future.
