Over the past few years, the rivalry between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen has enthralled football fans. They saw the two superstar quarterbacks battle in both the regular season and the playoffs.

Usually, when the Buffalo Bills’ signal caller managed to win in the regular season, the Texas Tech alum would get the better of this battle in the postseason. Mahomes went on to use those wins to collect three Super Bowl rings, whereas Allen is still waiting for the time when he can win in the playoffs and proceed to the biggest game.

That is why the three-time Super Bowl MVP is always referred to as Josh Allen’s ‘Kryptonite’. Now that he is not going to play football anymore in this campaign, Ryan Clark believes the pressure is on the other half of this rivalry.

There’s no quarterback in the entire NFL that will have more pressure on them heading into the playoffs than Josh Allen. Your nemesis, Patrick Mahomes, will not be there. Joe Burrow, who has beaten you in Buffalo, will not be there.

The former Super Bowl champion also added Lamar Jackson to this analogy when suggesting that Allen is not going to face any of the otherworldly quarterbacks the AFC possesses.

This means that not only does the recently married superstar has the easiest path to win a Super Bowl, but he is also under incredible pressure, as not winning one could become the narrative of his career.

Ryan Clark slams Josh Allen for missing game-winning throw

Even though it is not a secret that Josh Allen has the easiest path (comparatively) to the Super Bowl, Ryan Clark and his colleagues were talking about the Bills QB’s potential game-winning 2-point conversion miss.

To be in that position, Josh Allen has to make that play… If they are going to win a Super Bowl, which is the expectation of him coming into this season, he’s going to have to make multiple plays like that.

The former safety believes that the California native often gets a pass and has become uncriticizable. But when other quarterbacks such as Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or even Matthew Stafford miss those game-winners, they typically face the brunt.

If the Bills are to try to win their first-ever Super Bowl, they need their quarterback to start making such important throws, as without them, there is no way they can defeat some of the better teams in the league.

That loss to the Eagles was a good chance to build the confidence to defeat top teams. Now, their focus will turn to the playoffs with their first game in the Wild Card round.

Josh Allen and his Bills will have a long path before Super Bowl

Now that Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills have earned a Wild Card berth, they have to be prepared with the prospect of battling fellow-AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots, first.

If they do manage to win that game, they will most probably face either the surprising Jacksonville Jaguars or the Los Angeles Chargers next in the Divisional Round. Win that, and they could be facing the winner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans’ clash. In all three potential games, two aspects could be a headache for the Buffalo Bills.

First, there are some great unknowns in this lineup, as the Bills have not faced the best version of those teams in the postseason. Then there is the factor of facing top-tier defenses, all of which have given other quarterbacks problems.

Therefore, Josh Allen might have to deal with both an unfamiliarity with his opponents, as well as the potential to face opponents who might have a surprise or two in their arsenal. That means his road to the Super Bowl will be long and possibly hard.
