Collin Murray-Boyles entered the 2025 NBA Draft as the 2nd best power forward, projected to go No. 12 overall to the Chicago Bulls. When the South Carolina star was eventually selected No. 9 overall by the Toronto Raptors, another forward, Chloe Kitts, became the center of attention.

Kitts is the lead power forward on South Carolina’s women’s basketball team. The 20-year-old has been dating Murray-Boyles for quite some time and was with him inside the draft room. When his name was called, cameras picked up him embracing his girlfriend before going up on stage.

For the next several hours, Chloe Kitts went viral. Basketball fans, particularly those unfamiliar with the women’s game, were in awe as the South Carolina forward dazzled. She wore a red dress and sat beside her boyfriend, supporting him.

It is not uncommon for women’s basketball players to dress up and look phenomenal. They routinely slay WNBA tunnel walks and have been a major part of the increase in the sport’s popularity. However, it is an uncommon sight to see them at the NBA Draft.

The attention should usually be on the highly-rated prospects inside the green room. Instead, Chloe Kitts became the center of several discussions on social media after ESPN cameras highlighted her as she sat beside her boyfriend.

When Collin Murray-Boyles realised he was selected by the Toronto Raptors, he let out an expletive. Social media took it as if he was disappointed at the fact that he had to move to Canada, instead of playing in the United States. Later, while speaking with Taylor Rooks, he clarified what he actually meant.

WTF for sure. WTF all the way till my name got called. It was crazy. I almost shed a tear.

Collin Murray-Boyles said

The power forward clarified that it was a happy expletive that came out of his mouth, rather than one of frustration. He then went on to say that he was grateful for the opportunity and would be focused on doing whatever the team needed him to do.

He also added that he would tag Raptors superfan, rapper Drake, and use one of his songs to announce his entry into Canada. Then he will work on his shooting, as many draft analysts have pointed out that it is something that is stopping him from being a star.

Chloe Kitts could end up in Toronto alongside her boyfriend

Collin Murray-Boyles going to the Toronto Raptors means he will be playing in Canada at least for the next 2 years. If he develops into the star player he thinks he is, that stay could extend for a longer period.

During the offseason, he can return to South Carolina to be alongside his girlfriend, Chloe Kitts. However, next year, there is a distinct possibility for the couple to make Toronto their permanent home.

It so happens that Kitts is projected to declare for the 2026 WNBA Draft. She might not meet the age criteria, but she would have spent 4 years in college. The South Carolina star is touted as the 10th-best prospect for next year.

If the 20-year-old builds on her stellar 2024-25 campaign, she could rise further up mock drafts. Next season, two expansion teams will join the WNBA. One of them will be the Toronto Tempo. If they feel she is a viable candidate for their future, then she could join her boyfriend in Canada.
