Clark knew that all of her Iowa Hawkeyes teammates would probably never get the chance to be clicked in the same frame with such a big-name celebrity. Caitlin Clark and her soaring fame has transformed women’s basketball

Caitlin Clark was already a highly touted high school player in her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. She decided to join the Iowa Hawkeyes program not only because it was her hometown college, but also because of head coach Lisa Bluder‘s history of developing point guards. Since her freshman season, she has been the starting point guard for the Hawkeyes.

In her four years of college basketball, Clark has set the record for most points scored in NCAA history. She also recently beat the college basketball record for most 3-point shots made. Last season she single-handedly took her team to the NCAA Championship Finals, losing to LSU. By the time she finishes her college career, she could break a couple of records. Her declaration to enter the WNBA has led to ticket prices doubling for the Indiana Fever who hold the No. 1 draft pick.

All of these feats have brought the spotlight onto women’s basketball. Clark’s popularity will drive the viewership growth in the WNBA. But as this video shows, she will not let the people stay out of sight who have been an integral part of her success.
