“Make them from the logo like free throws!” Skip Bayless calls Caitlin Clark greatest shooter in women’s college basketball history
Caitlin Clark recently surpasses Stephen Curry's three pointers' record in the college basketball history.
Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark, the sensational college basketball player, made history following her team Iowa Hawkeyes’ victory over Penn State on March 8. Clark now holds the record for the most three-pointers made in a season. The Hawkeyes are having a winning season this year, as they continue to dominate, showing their hunger for the title. Clark and the Hawkeyes lost to the LSU Tigers led by Angel Reese last year.
The team is now set to make the Finals this year as well. Caitlin Clark has played exceptionally well, making the case for one of the greatest women’s college basketball players of all time. Led by Clark, the Hawkeyes have had a 14-game win streak at best.
Impressed by Clark’s potential, Skip Bayless did not hesitate to call the 22-year-old, the greatest shooter in women’s college basketball history. Talking on ‘The Skip Bayless Show’, the veteran analyst said,
Caitlin Clark is simply the greatest long-distance shooter in the history of women's college basketball. Never seen anything like her. And she isn't just a feet-on-the-floor set shooter, like Magic was, or Manu was, or like Tyrese Haliburton is. Caitlin jumps and shoots. She a bonified jump shooter who can make them from the logo like they're free throws.Bayless
Clark has the range, the consistency, as well as the shot-making ability to make deep shots. Finishing the season with a 29-4 record, it will be as entertaining to watch Clark perform in the tournament. The tournament brackets are set to be announced on March 17th, as fans await the Hawkeyes’ opponent in the first round.
Caitlin Clark will be a problem in the WNBA
While being a consistent shooter as well as a talented scorer, the transition from college basketball to the WNBA wouldn’t be so tough for Clark. Her numbers have never gone down the graph. In her senior year, Clark has averaged 31.9 points, 8.8 assists, and 7.3 rebounds while shooting over 46% from the field.
There is no doubt regarding Clark’s debut in the WNBA. The 22-year-old is a projected number-one pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. It will be interesting to see how well her work pays off, as she gears for March Madness. Having a lot of hype around her, she is also the most anticipated player to step on the WNBA hardwood.
Earning the title of the greatest shooter in women’s college basketball has a nice ring to it. However, this title can only be paired with an NCAA champion banner under her name.
