One of the primary reasons fans took their anger out on the WNBA after the incidents with the Phoenix Mercury was that they were sure that the league was continuing to disregard Caitlin Clark.

They got proof that she was being unfairly officiated when she was assessed a technical foul for clapping, whereas it was DeWanna Bonner who started the entire altercation.

On top of that, in the second game, the officials reviewed a potential foul on Clark, but ruled against it. The Mercury defender did invade the point guard’s landing space, which is why the foul was supposed to be called.

No wonder her head coach, Stephanie White, went berserk during the post-game press conference. She made it clear that her best player was not fairly officiated, nor is she protected like other superstars are.

Now that Alyssa Thomas has been suspended, it may have led fans to believe that there was some semblance of justice. However, a few hours earlier, the WNBA did something that angered fans again. Now, a congressman has decided to speak out against it.

I think she’s an exceptional athlete, and she’s being abused physically. The WNBA didn’t put her on the 30th-year poster. I think something’s up… They’re gonna lose. Some European league is going to pull her. They’ll pay her. She’ll pull out, and they’ll all be back flying coach.

Congressman Tim Burchett told TMZ

The former Knox County Mayor believes that fans will desert the WNBA if this continues. Then, if Caitlin Clark herself leaves after all this ‘abuse,’ the league will go back to being a loss-making entity.

Rashad McCants questions WNBA’s intentions after omitting Caitlin Clark from 30th-Year poster

Congressman Tim Burchett talked about the ‘dirty’ fouls Caitlin Clark faced in the WNBA throughout her career, but also specifically mentioned the 30th-year poster debacle.

It so happens that the league unveiled a poster that features some of its best players. The poster is available for sale to the public and is official 30th-anniversary merchandise.

The league surprisingly omitted the Iowa native from this poster. They do have her teammate Sophie Cunningham, as well as other young players, such as Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow, and Rickea Jackson.

The league’s media department may have just tried to bring in one representative from each team. But if that were the case, why not Clark, who is the Fever’s most recognizable face? At least that is what Burchett, fans, and now Rashad McCants were wondering.

This is absolutely insane!!! I wonder why???

Rashad McCants wrote on X

The former Minnesota Timberwolves star has a penchant for saying out loud what he believes, and this was one of them. His sarcastic undertone was enough to question why the WNBA decided to omit its most popular player from this poster.

Colin Cowherd believes WNBA is ‘paranoid’ not to promote Caitlin Clark

The entire mood after this 30th-year poster dropped has been about the WNBA not wanting to promote Caitlin Clark. When it was Colin Cowherd‘s turn to speak about it, he said:

They just keep driving into a wall at full speed with Caitlin Clark… You were flying the last six rows of Southwest Airlines until she made such an impact, you transitioned to private jets. And she’s not on the 30-year poster, but Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese are?… This is a paranoid, weird, insular league.

Colin Cowherd said The Herd

The longtime analyst has pointed out in the past how the league and USA Basketball failed to take advantage of Clark’s popularity at the Paris Olympics.

He now believes that Commissioner Cathy Engelbert needs to start accepting the fact that the two-time All-Star is the only way they can move forward. He cited that if Tiger Woods‘ fellow golfers did not do that, they would not be making the millions they do now. So should the league.
