The WNBA Finals are in session and fans have been treated to some of the best basketball they have seen in a long time. Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart are now in the spotlight as they battle for supremacy. However, the spotlight on the New York Liberty star has led to something seriously alarming for her wife Marta Xargay Casademont.
As reported by the New York Post, the former basketball player contacted the New York Police Department’s 78th Precinct in Brooklyn on Thursday. She reported a disgusting email she received.
The message was serious enough for the former Spain national team player to approach the police. The WNBA, as they announced recently, has involved their own security to investigate the issue alongside law enforcement.

WNBA security is actively trying to track down the sender of the email. It has been reported that the email was sent from an address that has sent out death threats, bomb threats, and more racist rhetoric in the past.
With the heightened coverage of the WNBA, it is possible that the couple came to the attention of the perpetrator recently. Casademont met Stewart when they were teammates at Dynamo Kursk. They got married in July 2021 and have two children, Ruby and Theo.
Breanna Stewart pursuing her third WNBA title
Breanna Stewart is one of those rare superstars with a list of accomplishments that generally do not fit a standard-sized video screen. She is generally humble and never brags about a win. Instead, she keeps on with her job and works to be the best player she can.
Last season, Stewart took that approach to win her second league MVP award. However, she and her New York Liberty team faced fatigue and lost last season’s WNBA Finals. This time, the entire team is on a mission to do better, with Stewart at the helm of things, as she showed when they won Game 2.
With games three and four set in Minnesota, the three-time Olympic gold medalist will look to finish the job. Stewart is eager to bring a WNBA championship back to her hometown of New York. Rest assured, her family will be alongside her to bask in that glory.
