Just about two weeks after a woman from Lahore named Hamiza Mukhtar accused Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam of sexually and financially abusing her, the same woman has now filed a police complaint alleging that a murder attempt had been made on her.
The woman reportedly claimed that a few armed men opened fire at her vehicle from a motorcycle. She further stated that she had been receiving death threats everyday. She stated, “My life is in danger. I have been receiving death threats for days.” She further called upon Pakistan Prime Minister and former cricketer Imran Khan to help her. The matter is currently being investigated by the police.
‘Babar exploited me for ten years’
Earlier on the 28th of November, Hamiza Mukhtar had come forward in a press conference with various allegations against Babar Azam. She stated that the two were in love and had eloped before Babar decided against marrying her and took to exploiting her sexually and financially.
Speaking at the conference, the woman had said, “He has been exploiting me for ten years by giving false promises of marriage.” She had further stated that she had played a big role in helping Babar Azam make it big in cricket with her financial support. In the conference, she was accompanied by her lawyer and she further stated that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had not paid heed to her calls for help.
