Ace air rifle shooter Elavenil Valarivan celebrates her birthday today. Though only 21, she is already World No. 1 in the ISSF Women’s 10m AR rankings.

The biggest accomplishment of her career so far has been winning the gold at the prestigious ISSF World Cup Finals in 2019. Additionally, she won the gold at the ISSF WC at Rio last year and has three ISSF Junior World Cup golds to her credit. She also won a silver at the 2018 Junior World Championships and a bronze at the 2018 Junior Asian Championships.

What is equally impressive is the number of 630+ qualification scores she has consistently posted at various international tournaments. Together with Mehuli Ghosh and Shreya Agrawal, she is also the current junior team World Record holder with a score of 1883.3 which was posted at the ISSF Junior WC at Suhl, Germany last year.

With so many accomplishments at a young age, Ela is regarded, along with the likes of Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary, as one of the young Indian shooters destined to conquer the world of sports shooting in the coming years.

The next challenge for Ela will be to get a place on the Indian squad for the 2021 Olympics. With so much depth in Indian women’s air rifle shooting, she will face stiff competition from fellow Fab Four shooters and quota-winners Apurvi Chandela and Anjum Moudgil. Knowing Ela’s talent however, it is certain she will give a tough fight to her teammates before the squad selection.

We at FirstSportz wish her a very happy birthday and all the success for the coming years.
