After an incredible League Championship Series, the 2024 MLB season is heading into its finale. The New York Yankees will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series as the two sides prepare to write a new chapter in their historic rivalry.
This will be the 12th instance where the Yankees will take on the Dodgers in the Fall Classic. The last time these two met each other in the World Series was back in 1981, 43 years ago when the Dodgers came back from 2-0 down to lift the trophy by winning four games on the bounce.
During the regular season this year, the Dodgers took two games out of the three from the Yankees in June. This saw them finish the year with the best record in the entire league (98-64).

Players to watch out for during the 2024 World Series
As stars from the two teams gear up for a mouth-watering clash, the eyes of the fans are set on two players. The 2024 World Series will see two former American League MVPs and this year’s candidates, Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, go up against each other.
The two players once again had an amazing season. While Ohtani founded the 50-50 club (50 home runs and 50 stolen bases) in his first season as a Dodger, Judge once again took home the crown of the most home runs hit with 58 bombs to his name.
Another matchup that will be interesting to see is between Giancarlo Stanton and Mookie Betts. Following a slow start to the postseason, these two have been in red-hot form in the league championship series. Along with Judge and Juan Soto, Stanton has come up with some big hits in the postseason which saw him win the ALCS MVP.
The official lineups of the teams will be announced on Friday. However, Yankees manager Aaron Boone has already confirmed that their ace pitcher, Gerrit Cole, will take to the mound in Game 1.
The big question is, who will now win this series? Could the Yankees end their drought and bring home their 28th World Series crown or will the Dodgers claim their second title in five years? Only time will reveal this answer.
