World Tour Finals: Tai Tzu and Carolina Marin storm into a third straight final
The match line up was spectacular for the women’s singles category. In to the semi-finals are, a teenage sensation (An Se Young), Olympic champion (Carolina Marin), World number one (Tai Tzu Ying), and an underdog who made headlines by beating the stars(Pornpawee Chochuwong)!
In the first match of the women’s singles semi-final, An Se Young locked horns with Tai Tzu Ying.
Tai Tzu’s upperhand with marvellous shots
It was a close first game. Both players played at a decent place but consistent, rallies utilizing all four corners of the court. A Lot of crosscourt shots were played and some brilliant net exchanges. Tai Tzu was in better control of her strokes and errors were less, Her smashes were finding the lines. An Se Young struggles to return the sharp strokes. The second game was dominated by the 26-year-old Taiwanese. An Se couldnt keep up the pace and fell short in her defence. Tai Tzu displayed some amazing smashes with even brilliant follow through with lighting fast net-kills. Tai Tzu stormed into the finals in 37 minutes 21-18, 21-12.
Carolina secures yet another victory in an unbeaten run
Carolina Marin is indeed unstoppable at the moment. She stormed into a third consecutive final in three weeks after she beat Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand 21-13,21-13. The Spaniard was in full control of the game. She pushed her opponent to the back of the court, engaged in rallies and finished with the attack on creating openings. Marin made sure to keep up pressure on the Thai girl and gave her no chance to attack. Chochuwong was mostly only reacting to the shots Marin was raining down on her. She could not break free from that and attack and pick up points.
Tomorrow, in the finals of the BWF World Tour finals, fans will be treated yet again to a Carolina Marin and Tai Tzu Ying faceoff for te third time in three weeks. Also, It will be Marin’s fiftieth appearance in a final.
