In the past, WWE has often been intertwined with politics. Leading up to the 2024 US Presidential elections, many fans recalled times in the past when the elections played out on WWE programming in the past. Such a moment occurred prior to the country’s elections in 2008 when Barack Obama showed up on screen to slander Randy Orton.
An episode of Raw prior to the 2008 elections featured recorded messages from Barack Obama, John McCain, and Hillary Clinton. He mentioned that it was a historic time for the USA, not just because Orton’s reign was soon coming to an end but also because of the elections.
Obama further pushed his motive for universal health care by rallying politicians to come together for this cause. He opined that American politics had featured these politicians fighting each other for a long time to become ‘king of the ring.’ Lastly, he defined his motive for running for president and encouraged the audience to vote for him.

Obama wasn’t the only politician slandering the Viper. In her message, Hillary Clinton said that the elections were feeling a lot like the king of the ring. However, this time, the last man standing was going to be a woman. Furthermore, she promised to stick to the political arena. Thus, Randy Orton was safe from her for the time being.

Randy Orton definitely deserved that slander, I hated that Randy Orton. Dude needed to be sent to Arkham Asylum, and therefore the Age of Orton would have been dealing with Batman.
