When Jey Uso shoved John Cena out of the ring at the Royal Rumble, the wrestling world went into a state of shock. Despite his undeniable popularity and charisma, not many expected WWE to pull the trigger on him. Nevertheless, the promotion took the bold step of doing so, a decision that has seen its fair share of mixed opinions. This further boiled over following this week’s episode of Raw.

Emanating from Brussels, Belgium, the show featured The YEET Master taking on Austin Theory. While the result was inevitable, Uso’s 29-second win over Theory was surprising, to say the least. Factor in the multiple botches made by the former Intercontinental Champion, and this entire angle suffered the wrath of the WWE Universe online. As such, the clip of this match posted on WWE’s YouTube channel has since garnered over 60,000 dislikes.

Although fans lambasted Uso’s performance, it was the nature of Theory’s loss that annoyed them most. After all, the 27-year-old star was once considered a future world champion in WWE. Backed heavily by ex-chairman Vince McMahon, Theory had ascended quickly on the main roster. Moreover, he had become Mr. Money in the Bank and won the United States Title in his first year. However, his position in the company has changed significantly since then.

Meanwhile, Jey Uso will shift his focus to winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. The former Bloodline member has remained determined to silence his critics, whether they be fans or his own co-workers. However, Uso will face an uphill battle as he squares off against one of the best wrestlers in the world, Gunther.

Jey Uso to team with ‘mystery partner’ on next week’s Raw

Among Jey Uso’s biggest doubters in WWE is none other A-Town Down Under. For the past few weeks, Uso has dealt with both Austin Theory and Grayson Waller on his own. While he hasn’t struggled in his battles against the former Tag Team Champions, The YEET Master will need someone in his own corner next week.

On the upcoming edition of Raw, Uso will team up with a partner of his own choice against A-Town Down Under. With the show set to emanate from Glasgow, Scotland, fans have speculated the mystery partner to be the country’s own, Joe Hendry.

The TNA World Champion has appeared on WWE programming previously, having competed on NXT several times last year. Furthermore, Hendry made a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble match as well, receiving a huge ovation.

Other than Hendry, another man lying in wait to help “Main Event” Jey is his brother, Jimmy Uso. The latter has pursued his own singles path on SmackDown for the past few months. However, WWE teased Jimmy’s involvement in the ongoing storyline when Gunther approached him backstage on last week’s SmackDown episode.

Jey Uso reflects on hilarious Fastlane press conference with Cody Rhodes

Jey Uso’s soaring popularity can be epitomized by his “YEET” catchphrase. In fact, Uso has become synonymous with the four-letter word, which has sold a lot of merchandise as well. Of course, the catchphrase was born from his infamous Fastlane 2023 press conference with Cody Rhodes.

Recently, the former Bloodline member spoke in detail about the events that transpired on the night. While speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Uso admitted that he and Rhodes were drunk. Despite their intoxicated state, Uso and Rhodes agreed to doing the presser anyway.

Uso and Rhodes briefly held the tag team titles during this period, winning them at Fastlane against The Judgment Day. The duo would go on to team with each other several times, with The YEET Master even helping Rhodes to “finish his story” at WrestleMania XL.
