Chris Jericho has faced a lot of criticism over the past few years. Not only have his stories been unappealing, but he is terribly out of shape and nowhere near the stellar in-ring performer he once used to be. Looking at his most recent match in AEW, it appears that these criticisms may not be invalid after all.
The main event of the latest episode of AEW Collision featured Chris Jericho facing off against Dax Harwood. During the match, the wrestling veteran tried to swing his ROH title at his opponent at a very slow pace. The FTR member ducked and landed a side suplex. While this looked bad enough, things were about to get much worse.
Jericho tried to poke the referee with his finger but barely grazed him with his hand. Harwood then attempted a headbutt from the top rope, and the Man of 1,004 holds was seemingly supposed to clock him with the ROH belt while the referee wasn’t looking. However, he couldn’t grab the title in time and simply punched his opponent with his fist.

Dax Harwood then got up from the punch, and Jericho finally landed and hit him with the belt. Although the former AEW Tag Team Champion kicked out at that point, the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla eventually got the pinfall victory.
Wrestling World goes bonkers after seeing Chris Jericho’s multiple botches on AEW Collision
Wrestling fans were baffled to see this sequence of events. Some fans made fun of Chris Jericho by saying that the match looked as if it was playing out in slow motion. Others made fun of his multiple botches throughout the match. Another netizen said that they just put on a contender for the worst match of the year.
A fan even blamed the Elite and AEW in general for motivating Jericho to still keep going. In fact, he was even rewarded with the Ring of Honor World Championship. Furthermore, a fan said that this stint by the former WWE Champion was highly ironic. When he was a younger superstar in the 1990s, he blamed other wrestlers for doing the exact same thing.
This legit is some of the worst wrestling ever seen 🤣🤣🤣

Dax and Jericho are moving in slow motion. The slow swing of the belt 😭 the awful ref bump 😂 Jericho was supposed to hit Dax with the ROH Title off the Dax Big Splash, but missed 😂

So Dax tells the ref to keep selling so they can do the belt spot 😂 😂
Imagine watching this!
I’ll never forgive anyone from the elite for giving Chris Jericho the motivation to wrestle into his 50’s

Hey @IAmJericho you spent the better part of the 90s hating on wrestlers who did this exact same thing. Did you not learn anything from yourself? This is embarrassing. 🤦🏻♂️

Jericho was too hungover, gassed, and washed to get the belt in position for the Benoit headbutt spot LOL

Social media users kept arguing that Jericho was now washed and that he should retire soon. He could still help the company as a producer or a manager. Others said that he should have been released from the company ever since s*xual harassment allegations were made against him. However, the Lionheart has already stated that he has no such plans any time soon.
