Clash at the Castle was meant to be a dream night for Drew McIntyre, achieving his lifelong ambition of capturing the World Heavyweight Title in his homeland. However, CM Punk was the roadblock and destroyed his dreams by preventing him from becoming the champion. Now, after taking revenge on him on the next SmackDown and qualifying for the MITB ladder match, it looks like The Scottish Warrior has a clear road to becoming Mr. Money in the Bank.

After Drew McIntyre annihilated CM Punk on the June 21 episode of SmackDown, he seized Punk’s armband, which had his wife AJ Lee‘s and his dog Larry’s names written on it. With Punk out of the equation, the Scottish wrestler could focus on becoming Mr. Money in the Bank on July 6 in Canada. He won the Triple Threat match against Ilja Dragunov and Sheamus in the main event of the latest episode of Raw. However, Lee could return to thwart him once again.

Rumors suggest that AJ Lee could show up at the Money in the Bank PLE to sabotage McIntyre in The Best in the World’s absence. She left the company soon after Punk was fired on their wedding day. While she was away from wrestling, Lee worked on writing her memoir, which was published in 2017 and debuted at No. 10 on The New York Times Best Seller List.
