Wrestling fans react to The Miz's awkward promo (via WWE)
The Miz is perhaps one of the most underrated workers of this generation. He can fit into almost any role on the card, be it comedic or serious. His microphone work is also highly underappreciated by the WWE Universe. However, he did not do service to making his case during a promo against LA Knight on the latest episode of SmackDown.
The Miz and Knight went toe-to-toe on the mic, and the former claimed that the A-Lister was out to do his same old shtick where he talked about being a 2x Grand Slam Winner and having a WrestleMania main-event victory over John Cena. Nobody wanted to listen to this again, and he should go.
The Miz replied to this remark by beginning to fake cry. Furthermore, he started mocking the former United States Champion, mentioning how it was okay for men to cry. It almost appeared as if Knight broke character following this segment as he was looking at the former WWE Champion with a huge grin on his face.

This promo was a little buildup to a match between these superstars, which took place immediately afterward. During the match, LA Knight bounced The Miz’s head off the announcers’ table, and fans could not help but cheer along. The former Mr. Money in the Bank got a near fall after a basement DDT. However, the Megastar soon picked up the victory with a diving elbow drop from the top rope.

The wrestling world was amazed after seeing this promo by The Miz on SmackDown. As mentioned before, fans usually consider him a great character worker with good microphone skills. However, this did not hit right, and many social media users claimed that this segment made them cringe.
Social media users could not imagine what must’ve been going through Knight’s head at that moment. A fan joked that he immediately cut him off after deciding that enough was enough and he should start speaking now. Another fan said that this awkward moment simply made it easier for the 42-year-old to cook him on the mic.

As fans pointed out, this mimicry was a reference to Knight’s promo last week on SmackDown. The Megastar had a confrontation with Drew McIntyre where he said that while it was okay for men to cry, he was tired of the Chosen One being a crybaby all the time. Knight even gave him a new nickname.
